Berlin Centre for Empirical Economics
The Berlin Centre for Empirical Economics (BCEE) brings together researchers from various fields of economics employing empirical methods to understand social and environmental phenomena and support political or operational decision-making processes.
The empirical work in these fields is characterised by a common scientific approach: primary data are collected or secondary data are compiled which are analysed using econometric methods to test theory-based hypotheses and derive policy recommendations. Fields of application of empirical economic research in on-going projects of the BCEE include the environment, health, taxation and public finance, international security and the labour markets.
